Vice President of Grants and Outcome Management

Full-time Exempt

Responsible for managing a portfolio of current grant funds, ensuring accurate timely collection of data and reporting on results for grant funded programs, researching and soliciting new grant funding, and providing leadership to staff responsible for managing grant funded programs. Takes an entrepreneurial approach to fundraising and will lead and build Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka's (BGCT) financial portfolio that supports existing programs and services, expands opportunities, and experiences and moves institutional giving toward achieving ambitious goals that align with BGCT tradition, innovation, and impact.

  • Conduct funding research that includes foundations, corporations and government agencies, prepare applications to sources mutually agreed on with Executive Team
  • Increase the levels of engagement for corporations and foundations that have connections to the BGCT community, as well as those not affiliated, preparing for the next phase of the organization's fundraising expansion
  • Responsible for working closely with BGCT's Executive Leadership Team in developing priority projects, concepts, and ultimately proposals for submission. Works closely with the CEO, VP of Finance & Administration, VP of Development and Operations leadership team in the idea creation, program budget buildout, and execution of letters of interest and grant proposals.
  • Strategically manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and prospects, acting as externally facing fundraiser, working to develop relationships with program officers and executives. Working collaboratively across the entire organization, will manage and enhance a program that will expand its network of funders and strategically develop new prospects through proactive outreach and corporate social responsibility initiatives (CSI)
  • Effectively manage internal writing needs through staff while also serving as the forward-facing lead for all institutional support. Set an example for the team as a hands-on expert in engaging and inspiring foundations and corporations to invest in BGCT mission
  • Appropriately manage internal and external relationships around grant outcomes and results to meet or exceed donor expectations, and diplomatically handle situations that create competing priorities
  • Inspire staff through effective motivation, mentoring, and team building. Embrace diversity and possess the management skills to leverage existing capacity while strengthening performance to achieve goals
  • Employ technology and analysis to further the institutional giving efforts. Excellent communications and collaboration skills at all levels of the organization are required

Membership Coordinator

Full-time Non-Exempt

Ensures that membership opportunities with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka are known throughout the community, school sector and industry, especially targeting those youths who need us most. Maintains an accurate accounting of membership, status, program involvement, and profile status including necessary reporting of National Youth Outcomes Initiatives (NYOI). Facilitates the orientation of new Club members to Club, Extension and all branch locations and provides ongoing monitoring and assessment of Club member satisfaction.

Career Readiness Coordinator

Full-time Non-Exempt

Responsible for planning, developing, and evaluating college and career preparation programming for youth between the ages of 13 and 18. Provides leadership and supervision to program staff and program volunteers within core area of responsibility: Academic Success. Ensures quality program delivery that meets defined outcomes and reflects Club members' interest and organizational goals. Completes accurate and timely reports. Creates a Club environment that facilitates achievement of 1) Positive Self Identity 2) Health & Well-Being 3) Positive Values 4) Commitment to Learning 5) Social Competency & 6) Community & Civic Involvement.

  • Establish programs, activities, and services that incorporate the Key Elements of Youth Development: A Safe & Positive Environment, Fun, Supportive Relationships, Opportunities, Expectations & Recognition.
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure they meet stated objectives and member needs and interests.
  • Ensure necessary supplies and materials are in stock, functional, accounted for, and utilized effectively.
  • Cultivate and maintain rapport with USD 501 middle school and high school teachers, principals, and counselors.
  • Represent self as a positive, professional, and responsive representative of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka.

Boys & Girls Clubs Part-Time Employment

 
Bus/Van Driver

Part-time Non-Exempt

The BGCT Bus/Van Driver is responsible for safely operating the BGCT bus, transporting Club members in a professional and responsible way, and represents self as a positive, caring, respectful role model for Club members and general public.

  • Must have a clear/clean Class 3 driver's license with a bus endorsement
  • Must be able to pass a criminal records background check

Certified Teacher

Part-time Non-Exempt

Site Coordinator 2

Part-time Non-Exempt
Act as the key contact person for parents, staff, teachers, principal, etc at the assigned BGCT site. Manage initial response in crisis situations and contact Area Director as needed. Provide regular clerical and administrative support to the Area Director. Prepares correspondence and reports, maintains schedule and calendar, answers telephones and maintains electronic and hard copy files. Coordinates, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific site, such as Power Hour, Project Learn, Torch Club, Smart Moves, and Triple Play.

Youth Development Leader 3/Member Support Specialist

Part-time Non-Exempt

Responsible for the implementation of a broad range of programs, and the care of youth/Teens between the ages of 5-18. Prepare youth for success by creating a Club environment that facilitates achievement and growth. Responsible for implementing and evaluating programs and activities that engage members while meeting grant outcomes. Individuals must have:

  • Minimum of 2 years college in teaching, education or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization supporting the needs of vulnerable youth preferred
  • Knowledge of education programs: how youth learn: how to work effectively with schools, parents and others in the community to support educational achievement
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage complex initiatives with varied deliverables
  • Interpersonal skill development and maintenance
  • Knowledge of reading education
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Ability to deal effectively with conflict and discipline problems
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavioral challenges
  • Ability to plan and implement quality alternative programs for vulnerable youth
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork skills and collaboration to achieve successful outcomes
  • Demonstrate independent work skills to guide effective decision making and positive results for the BGCT
