Montara Unit Director

Full-time Exempt
Manages overall daily operations of the Montara Unit before/after school and summer programs. Primary focus will be on management of program staff and volunteers. Additional duties include: building and maintaining collaborative relationships with USD 437 Pauline Central & Pauline South personnel, Club families and membership administration. Advise and assist site staff in the areas of volunteers, personnel management and programs. Individuals must have:

  • Four year degree from an accredited college or university, business or technical school education (Bachelor’s degree) or the equivalent of such
  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning & supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young children, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment & retention of key personnel
  • Strong communication skills, both oral & written
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff
  • Ability to deal effectively with conflict and discipline problems
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management
  • Skills in fundraising events
  • Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders
  • Demonstrates excellent teamwork skills and working together to achieve successful outcomes
  • Demonstrates independent work skills to guide effective decision making and positive results for the BGCT
  • Acceptable KS MVR (meets BGCT insurance standards)

West Area Director

Full-time Exempt
Manages overall daily operations of the four (4) BGCT/USD 437 primary schools’ before/after school and summer programs. Primary focus will be on management of program staff and volunteers. Additional duties include: building and maintaining collaborative relationships with USD 437 personnel, Club families and membership administration. Advise and assist site staff in the areas of volunteers, personnel management and programs. Individuals must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in related field
  • A minimum of five years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, with an additional two years’ experience at the director level, or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of recreation and youth development theory.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Be able to tell the story of the Club in external and small group settings.
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.
  • Ability to deal effectively with members’ discipline problems.
  • Working knowledge of budget control, and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsible for implementation of a broad range of programs for youth between the ages of 13-18 years old and that prepares youth for success and creates a club environment that facilitates achievement of

Site Coordinator 2

Part-time Non-Exempt
Act as the key contact person for parents, staff, teachers, principal, etc at the assigned BGCT site. Manage initial response in crisis situations and contact Area Director as needed. Provide regular clerical and administrative support to the Area Director. Prepares correspondence and reports, maintains schedule and calendar, answers telephones and maintains electronic and hard copy files. Coordinates, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific site, such as Power Hour, Project Learn, Torch Club, Smart Moves, and Triple Play. A full job description can be found here: Site Coordinator

YDL3/Literacy Innovator

Part-time Non-Exempt
Supports the Literacy Director with the introduction and implementation of reading enrichment programs designed specifically for use in out-of-school environments.
