Volunteers play a significant role in the operation of the Boys & Girls Clubs. From thrift stores, to mentoring, to building projects, all are vital to our success. Our volunteer opportunities are listed below. If you and/or a group is interested, please either fill out our application below or reach out to Jerika Henderson at JerikaHenderson@bgctopeka.org.



Club Volunteer

Here is a list of our ongoing activities in our Clubs. Each of our 14 Clubs locations have opportunities. If you have a hobby, talent, or skill you would like to share, please let us know!

We have many projects available for you, your group and your company to help with!

Team or Individual Project Opportunities:

Delivery Drivers Needed

We need drivers who are available at 4:00pm Thursdays and can haul a load of produce to three of our locations Montara, Teen Center & Adams.

Description: 

Pick up / delivery of food boxes to the Boys and Girls Club. Starting weekly the week of September 9th.

Responsibilities:

  • Pick up food boxes at Topeka Rescue Mission (TRM) warehouse on Thursdays at 4pm.
  • Deliver food boxes to Boys and Girls Clubs location by 4:30PM
  • Lifting not required
  • Need a vehicle that can hold 40 boxes of produce. Vehicle examples: minivan, SUV, truck, pull behind trailer, etc.

Produce Pack Distribution - Montara Unit

We need your help in distributing the wonderful produce packs to our Club members and surrounding community. 

We will need at least two volunteers for each time slot but it is not limited to two. If your family wants to join in on the fun let me know in the comment section!

The produce gets delivered at 4:30pm to the Montara Unit then you will hand them out to the families that come by from 5:00pm - 6:00pm or until they are gone.

 


Beautification Projects (outside)

  • Pulling weeds and cleaning out the flower beds at our Adams Club
  • Cleaning and picking up trash around our Adams Club
  • Install fencing in two small portions on our football field Adams Club

Mentor

Be a mentor for a Club member at any of our four Club locations. Learn More >>

Special Events

Assist staff with special events (Great Futures Gala, Golf Tournament, Harley Party, etc.).

Power Hour

Assist club members with the completion of their homework and help them improve on a particular subject area.

Gamesroom

Assist staff and interact with club members in the gamesroom area (playing pool, Legos, ping pong, and board games).

Arts & Crafts

Share your talents and skills (painting, drawing, special projects, etc) with club members.

Sports

Assist staff with recreational activities (basketball, football, soccer, kickball, etc.)

Technology

Assist staff and share your computer skills with Club members.

Facility based project

Assist with the upkeep of the buildings (painting, groundskeeping, cleaning, etc.) Learn More >>

Events Volunteer

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Topeka has several annual fundraising events, including our Great Futures Gala and Harley Party. Each event requires the assistance of volunteers that provide vital help at the event. We work with individuals and groups who are interested in helping.
